how RepelShell® works
- A thermally-stable additive that is compatible with most liquid coating resins
- When blended into a resin and the coating is applied, the additive migrates to the surface, creating a surface that is highly resistant to water, oil, dirt, and stains
- A low weight loading (less than 5%) is all that is required to achieve the desired properties, thus minimizing any potential impact on durability or mechanical properties

RepelShell® is a powdered additive that, when blended into coating formulations, increases the hydrophobicity and oleophobicity of the resulting coated surface. After applying the coating, RepelShell migrates to the surface and then self-assembles into a uniform exterior layer. As the additive can be specifically functionalized to be compatible with the resin chemistry, the repellent properties of coatings containing RepelShell are extremely durable and will last the lifetime of the coating or finished part.
