Sr VP, Process & Development
Perry Catchings, Sr., joined our team as Vice President of Process in August 2014 to manage chemical operations. He has more than 35 years of R&D, chemical scale-up, chemical manufacturing, operations, general management, and entrepreneurial experience. Prior to joining NBD Nano, Perry spent 15 years at Prime Organic, Inc., a contract R&D and chemical manufacturing company, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). He was Co-Founder, President, and COO of Functional Pharmaceuticals, a start-up company focused on the development and commercialization of a diagnostic and therapeutic for Alzheimer’s disease. He worked at Polaroid Corporation for over 20 years in positions of increasing responsibility, culminating as Senior Manager of the Chemical Synthesis Laboratory and facility, which served as a conduit for the transfer of technology from R&D to Development into Chemical Manufacturing. Perry serves on the Boards of Prime Separations, Inc. and the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE). In the past, he served on the Boards of Prime Organics, Inc., the Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center and the Roxbury YMCA. He holds an MBA from Northeastern University, an M.S. in Organic Chemistry from Atlanta University, a B.S. in Chemistry from Jackson State University, and studied International Management at Henley Management College. Perry is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), NOBCChE, the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
