Supported by the United States Department of Agriculture in a SBIR Phase II grant, NBD has piloted its enhanced fog capture technology in various sites in California to prove efficacy of an alternative passive water resource. NBD has partnered with The United States Geological Survey to determine the best sites for piloting in California for the demonstration of this technology.
NBD has fully instrumented the sites with a FM-120 to determine fog droplet size and density, as well as tipping buckets that can digitally record collection rates in comparison to uncoated meshes. Next steps, NBD will investigate implementation of NBD’s Plastic Additive Technology for ease of manufacturing with agricultural sites looking for an alternative water solution in arid regions.
